Introduction to Stand Up Paddleboarding (Level 1)

Introduction to Stand Up Paddleboarding (Level 1)

The perfect course for people starting out in paddling Stand Up Paddleboards, and want to learn some of the basic skills on how to control the craft and build some confidence. As part of the course, we work through the Paddle UK syllabus for the Start and Discover Award, which you will receive certificates for upon completing the course.

The course can cover:

  • Typical equipment and clothing
  • Understanding the paddling environment
  • Other users of the water
  • Standing up and moving on the board
  • Forward paddling
  • Turning the craft
  • Water confidence
  • Sideways
  • Future development

The course is very much designed around the paddler and their personal progression. Where possible we will adapt the course for the needs of the participant.

SUPs, buoyancy aids and paddles are provided, but please feel free to bring your own equipment if you have it.
