AQA Awards - 6 Week Course - Year 2

These courses are designed for children who have already completed the Year 1 version, and would like to learn more in this particular category.

These are courses that run over a 6 week period. 4 week courses can be found clicking here.

Children will have the chance to learn skills and gain AQA awards

Children will need to be a minimum of 8 years old

 Certificate available to anyone who is AQA registered, please purchase the AQA Registration if you haven't already done so, and want the certificate, you only have to do this once, and this will apply for all AQA courses. Please be aware AQA registration only last for a year from purchase.

Water Sports 9th September - 14th October 2026

Using a variety of craft to look at the demonstration of skills and knowledge and experience the learner has on and off the water. Year 2 has a canoe and kayak emphasis.

Navigation - 4th November - 9th December 2026

Navigation – using the orienteering we have on site and the skills set to look at direction, compass, maps grid references and planning a walk. Year 2 will cover more map advanced map reading skills.

Targets - 6th January - 10th February 2027

Using a combination of Archery, Riffles, axe throwing and Fencing, Students will learn the history of the art as well as knowledge about the equipment used. They will improve their own practice and present their new skills to others. Year 2 has an Archery and Air Rifles emphasis.

Rock Climbing - 14th April - 19th May 2027

Over the 6 weeks we can work towards a NICAS syllabus and climb a variety of routes, abseil , boulder and learn knots. Year 2 may include some written work.
